CONTENT

The course explores contemporary Italian society (family, education, gender equality, and employment), as well as cultural topics such as music, media, traditions, and heritage. It also covers issues like immigration, regional differences, and modern Italian history, including fascism and the post-war transition to democracy. Alongside grammar study, students analyse a film and a book chosen from the list given by the Edexcel exam board. Students will need  complete an independent research project as required by the Exam board and this is an opportunity to focus on a theme of particular interest.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Must have a minimum of Grade 6 in GCSE Italian (or equivalent language qualification).

ASSESSMENT

You will be assessed through a combination of examinations at the end of the course, including listening, reading, writing and speaking components. The speaking assessment includes a discussion of course topics and your independent research project.
