A selective sixth form centre for excellence 9 Specialist facilities CTK Aquinas is a purpose-built, modern sixth form with a range of specialist facilities and resources to support your studies. This includes our spacious, state-of-theart Learning Resources Centre (LRC). Here you can access computer, printing and scanning facilities throughout the day, and three group study rooms to facilitate collaborative working. You will enjoy access to more than 7,000 books, digital resources, online learning materials, individual study guides for each subject, specialist journals, periodicals and newspapers, high specification computers, scanners, and internet access. Computers, many with industrystandard software, are available throughout CTK Aquinas. You will be able to use wi-fi on site and access your home drive files off site. Other outstanding facilities at CTK Aquinas include: • A fitness suite and sports teaching area with modern changing rooms. • A modern canteen. • Two media suites with digital editing and recording facilities. • A suite of specialist art, design and technology rooms, including two networked suites of Apple Mac computers. • Four fully equipped science laboratories. • Numerous dedicated student support areas. • Eight networked computer rooms. • A Chaplaincy area including a Chapel and Chapel common room. The teachers go above and beyond to help us thrive and achieve outstanding results in our course studies and exams. Sustainability At Christ the King Sixth Forms, we prioritise environmental strategies and sustainability. Our initiatives include reducing our carbon footprint, promoting eco-friendly practices, and leading environmental projects to raise awareness in our community. We received the Eco-Schools Green Flag Award with Distinction for our efforts. Our Sustainability Development Project focuses on providing training facilities in green STEM areas, featuring solar panel and heat pump technology. Our students’ winning idea in the IKEA X Let’s Go Zero Competition involves creating an Eco Hub as a workspace for students, the local community, and schools to enhance sustainability understanding and application. We aim to inspire students, staff, families, and the community to join our sustainable journey. Elevate Mentoring Programme The Elevate Mentoring Programme was created by CTK alumnus Trevor Gomes, who is now a Digital Analytics Specialist at Vodafone as well as CEO of RISE and Director of Elevate. Trevor also sits on our Governing Body as our Careers Link. The Elevate programme provides you with the skills, knowledge and experiences for higher education and the world of work. Trevor and his team run programmes for our students such as personal branding and employability coaching.
