Content Business is a dynamic and interesting subject. Throughout this two-year course, you will enhance your commercial awareness and develop a wide range of business-related analytical and entrepreneurial skills. You will investigate different types of organisations, identify investment opportunities, and evaluate how markets affect business performance. You are going to learn how to understand real-world decision-making processes and critically evaluate the external and internal influences on businesses. The topics you study include: marketing and people, managing business activities, business decisions, and strategies. BUSINESS A LEVEL An A Level in Business is a highly engaging subject that can be the starting point to a range of careers - from accountancy, law, human resources, marketing, or business management, to teaching, politics, or journalism. Source: Google A selective sixth form centre for excellence 13 A LEVEL Content If you have a natural curiosity about the world and a willingness to search for answers, then our A Level Chemistry will teach you how to find those answers through laboratory investigations and independent research. Your interest and enthusiasm for Chemistry will develop into a genuine approach to how science works. Building on the knowledge you gained at GCSE, you will learn more about how and why reactions happen. You will study topics such as: atoms, elements, bonding, energetics, organic chemistry, and the development of the periodic table. Chemistry studies reactions and substances from a biological and physical perspective. In order to consolidate your studies, you will learn how to handle data, think critically, and apply your knowledge and processes to unfamiliar contexts. Following on from this, you will have the opportunity to consolidate your knowledge through practical experiments. An A Level in Chemistry can be the starting point to a range of careers - from engineering to healthcare. It’s a highly engaging subject that can lead you to a career in anything from engineering, pharmaceuticals, or medical research to training. CHEMISTRY A LEVEL Entry Requirements Please see the entry requirements on page 11, you will also need a GCSE Chemistry or GCSE combined Science at grade 7 or above. Assessment You will be assessed by a written examination at the end of the course. The assessment of practical work in Chemistry will be reported separately in a certificate of endorsement.
